Nowadays, most research and development in biotech (both academia and corporate), relies on machine learning and neural networks models. These models mostly depend on how accurate the data they are provided with is. Finding such data can be incredibly hard, take a long time and be very expensive. Moreover, despite there being loads of data available out there, this is nearly often unsuitable, too generic and not labelled.

80% of AI projects time is spent on data collection and preparation; on average companies spend £180,000 every 3 years on data collection.

This encompasses labour, training and the associated security and storage costs - slowing the rate of innovation.

Our solution

Clients oriented. Lugo offers a dedicated space for clients to submit new initiatives detailing the kind of data they wish to collect, the format and the validation this should be subject to. Clients will then be able to monitor data inflow, see data samples and ultimately collect large datasets tailored to their specific needs.
Empowers the user. Way too many firms out there get a hold of user data through indirect terms and conditions, collecting and redistributing large sets of generic data. At Lugo, we empower the user: each data entry is rewarded in cash, encrypted and stored anonymously, no-one, not even Lugo, can link the collected data to the users that provided it.
Sets a standard. There is MP4 for audio, JPG for images and... LUGO for AI. We are working on a new global standard for machine learning data. While at the moment AI is not mass produced, this market will unavoidably boom in the next ten years. Our clients will be able to access their data via common tool kits and formats and take advantage of our own standards.
